How can I donate from India?
With UPI. Choose ₹500, ₹350, ₹250, ₹170, ₹120, ₹75, or type another amount in rupees. Scan the QR in GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM, or use Pay with UPI app on a phone. The payee name sent with the request is Bharatpedia. The UPI id is ipshitaa7-2@okaxis. Each payment is once. There is no monthly mandate on this page.
Can I claim this under section 80G?
Not from this page. A deduction under section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961 is available only if the institution holds a valid 80G approval and later issues Form 10BE, after it files the donation statement in Form 10BD. Bharatpedia does not publish an 80G approval number, and this form does not issue Form 10BE. Cash gifts above ₹2,000 are not eligible for 80G even where an approval exists. The UPI success screen is your payment record, not a tax certificate.
Can someone outside India donate?
Not on this page. Under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, a foreign contribution can be received only by an organisation with FCRA registration or prior permission, and only into the designated State Bank of India account. Bharatpedia does not publish an FCRA number. This UPI id is for payments in India. Do not send a gift from outside India to this id.
How secure is the payment?
You approve the payment inside your own UPI app. This page does not ask for a card number, UPI PIN, or bank password, and it does not store them. The UPI PIN is entered only in the app. Match the id ipshitaa7-2@okaxis before you approve.
What personal data do you keep?
The name field is optional. If you fill it, it is added to the UPI note so the payment can be identified. Bharatpedia does not sell that note. Your bank and UPI app keep their own record. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies to digital personal data processed in India. The site privacy policy is on Bharatpedia:Privacy policy.
What if I want the money back?
Write to [email protected] with your name, date, amount, UPI app, and the UPI reference number. Do not email a UPI PIN, card number, or full account number. A return, if made, goes back through UPI. Banks and apps set their own timing. This is a voluntary gift, not a purchase of goods, so it is not a shop refund under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Is this a gift to Wikipedia?
No. Bharatpedia is hosted by the Bharatmedia Foundation in Mumbai. It is not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation. A UPI gift here supports Bharatpedia.
